Overview

Business Service Intermediaries (BSIs) are select organizations whose main focus is to support Start-ups and Entrepreneurs in their entrepreneurial growth and development process.

The objective of this “Call for Proposal” is to solicit applications from well-structured Business Incubators and Accelerators operating in Jamaica with the programmes designed to build entrepreneurs and scale innovative Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in their seed and growth stages.

Proposal must be submitted by Friday, July 29th. NO HARD COPY DOCUMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Who are Business Service Intermediaries (BSIs)?
Business Service Intermediaries (BSIs) are select organizations whose main focus is to support Start-ups and Entrepreneurs in their entrepreneurial growth and development process.
What are the roles of the BSI?
The roles and responsibilities of our IGNITE BSIs are as follows: Pre-Implementation Phase Conduct the necessary due diligence of prospective IGNITE clients provide support during implementation for short-listed beneficiaries
Is there a maximum number of clients that a BSI can submit for IGNITE?
Yes. Selected BSI may submit up to twenty (20) eligible project concepts for evaluation.
How much will BSIs be paid to provide support during implementation?
BSI will be paid J$400K in tranches for each approved project in the programme.
What type of service can I offer to the beneficiaries?
BSIs are selected based on the services they offer, and therefore are expected to continue providing these services to the selected start-up/entrepreneur
Can selected start-ups be transferred to another BSI?
Yes. Selected MSE(start-up/entrepreneur) will have the option to change the BSI during the programme, subject to the conditions.
How long is the programme?
The IGNITE programme is implemented over eighteen (18) months. Twelve (12) months for project implementation and six (6) months post implementation.
